Ride - London to Paris - for Wyfold RDA -
Mission accomplished by William Skinner's Cousin,
James Vincent - June 2007
Hey Cousin, hope you’re well.
I just wanted to send you a quick note to let you know that I managed
to complete the London to Paris ride.
It
was harder than I thought, especially the first day – 90
miles through the hills in Kent to Dover. It was non stop up and down – no
flats whatsoever. Everyone was very sore that night.
However it must have done something to my legs as I won the stage
on the second day! Tearing across 75 miles of northern France like
a madass!
After that we had about 12 beers to celebrate so Day 3 was a little
more relaxed from me I can tell you.
The best bit though was riding down the Champs
Elysee with about 150 other riders – very impressive sight!
I’m definitely going to do it again – we’re
signing up for a harder and faster ride for next summer with some
ex cycling
pros like Johan Museeuw.
What’s next? Well I’ve got the 120 mile Tour de France
Etape a week on Sunday which will be a killer followed by the London
Triathlon in August with some smaller rides in-between. The Dege & Skinner
kit went down well and everyone commented on it. It will be getting
lots more used I can tell you.
I’ve attached a couple of pics for
you to look at. The RDA logo on my backside got lots of airing seeing
as I was bent over the handlebars most of the time!
Thanks for your very generous sponsoring of me
and I aim to raise more funds in the future.
Kind regards , James
